A second attempt at the Floyd Rose Floating Tremolo

The Ibanez GRG 270B Floyd Rose Floating Tremolo system is a total nightmare! The Ibanez GRG 270B has a comfortable 24 fret neck, a locking bridge, Floyd rose style tremolo a 5 position pickup selector that switches the two humbuckers and one single coil pickup. The guitar was set up well when I bought it, the action way better than the slightly higher priced range. I was quite happy. All that changed when I went from gauge 9 to gauge 10 strings. As expected the Tremolo now tilted forward with the added tension of the thicker gauge. There are different opinions on how to rectify this. Is an extra spring required or not? Will three springs suffice OR do you need the fourth? Despite all the effort to tweak the 3 springs on the back-plate the neck still tilted forward. My conclusion; The fourth Spring is Required! - If you have a difference of opinion do let me know. In the meantime a quick fix is to use a block of wood to convert your floating tremolo guitar to a fixed bridge. th

Gingerbread cookies

Gingerbread cookies Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter, 125 ml; 3/4 cup brown sugar, 175 ml; 1/3 cup molasses, 70 ml; 1 large egg; 2 tablespoons water; 2 2/3 cup flour, 600 ml; 1 teaspoon baking soda; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 2 teaspoon ground dried ginger; 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon; 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg; 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves; Icing: Icing sugar; lemon juice; Approach: Mix the butter in a bowl with the sugar. Stir in molasses, egg and water. Beat up the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Add in the butter mixture. Preheat oven to 180 ° C (350 ° F). Roll the dough into thin slices, use a cookie cutter to mold into various shapes and place on a baking sheet and in a tray. Bake for about 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool. Decorate with a thick mixture of icing sugar and lemon juice, Let it dry.

Distance: 895 Km. Length: 3 days. We took the long Victoria Day weekend and head up north to Bruce Peninsula with some friends. The first day was a bit tiring with all the driving, hiking and beers in the sun. So to recover we decided to go snorkeling. Wreck diving at Tobermory
